Access & Map

Where?

  • 15 minutes south of Nanaimo, in the community of Cedar
  • On the north east shore of Holden Lake, 3 minutes from Hemer Provincial Park
  • 20 minutes from Cassidy Airport
  • 1.5 hours from Downtown Victoria
  • 80 minutes to 2 hours from downtown Vancouver

From Nanaimo:

  1. South of Nanaimo (via #19 Island highway or Island Parkway), turn East onto Cedar Road
  2. Continue over Nanaimo River Bridge (do not turn right onto Cedar Road)
  3. Turn right at a 3-way stop, corner of Harmac & McMillan Road
  4. Turn left at corner of McMillan Road and Holden Corso Road (Millway Market & Esso gas station on corner)
  5. Follow Holden Corso Road until it descends into a sharp "S" curve
  6. At the bottom of the curve, turn right onto Holden Corso Road (narrow road leading uphill)
  7. Follow road for 1/2 kilometer, Tamagawa Gakuen of Canada Society is on the right

From Victoria:

  1. Take #19 Island Highway North until highway meets the junction of the old Island Parkway and Cedar Road
  2. Turn right onto Cedar Road

From Vancouver:

3 Options - (see Links page for individual websites)

  1. B.C. Ferry - B.C. Ferries offers two sailing routes to Nanaimo: Horseshoe Bay/Departure Bay or Tsawwassen/Duke Point. Crossing times are 1.5 hours and 2 hours, respectively.
  2. Sea Plane - Flights depart either from Vancouver Airport or Vancouver Harbour and arrive at Nanaimo Harbour. Crossing time is 20 minutes. (Harbour Air or West Coast Air)
  3. Air Canada - Flights between Vancouver Airport and Cassidy/Nanaimo Airport. Crossing time is 15 minutes.
